First steps with your air fryer

Your air fryer has arrived? π Let's get it ready to go. It'll take less than ten minutes.
Using your air fryer for the first time: how to get started the right way:
Your first steps:
- Remove the packaging, tape and promotional stickers.
- Wash your air fryer's basket and insert.
- Place it on a stable, level surface with space all around it. Rule of thumb: leave 15 cm of space on all sides and above.
Why your air fryer needs space
Your air fryer draws air in and blows hot air back out. With enough space, it cooks evenly and the outside doesn't get hotter than it needs to. The basket and insert come straight from the factory, so give them a wash first.
How to get your air fryer ready to use
- Unpack: Remove any film, tape and promotional stickers. Leave the rating label with the appliance details in place.
- Wash: Wash the basket and insert in hot, soapy water, then rinse and dry them well. Just wipe the appliance itself with a damp cloth β never put it in water.
- Set up: Place it on a stable, level and dry worktop. Keep it away from the edge and not right next to a hot hob. Keep the air vent at the back clear.
- Get started: Put the basket in, close the drawer fully and you're done. Time for your first recipe!
To be on the safe side, have a quick look at the manual for your model. Spacing and safety tips can vary slightly between brands.
