Want to make chips in your air fryer? You're in the right place. Whether you've got fresh potatoes in front of you, you're tearing open a bag of frozen chips or you want to rescue yesterday's leftovers: each one needs a slightly different approach, and those little differences decide whether your chips end up crispy or soggy.

Making Homemade Chips in the Air Fryer

With fresh potatoes, it's all about the prep: cut them as evenly as you can, soak them in cold water, dry them well and toss them in a little oil. You'll find my full guide with amounts, timings and temperatures here: Easy Homemade Chips in the Air Fryer.

Getting Frozen Chips Crispy in the Air Fryer

Frozen chips go straight into the air fryer from frozen – no extra oil needed. What matters much more: give them plenty of space in the basket and shake them halfway through so the hot air can reach every chip. Here's the full guide: Crispy Frozen Chips in the Air Fryer.

Reheating Chips in the Air Fryer

Don't throw away leftover chips – they deserve a second chance, right? In the air fryer, they turn crispy again in 8–10 mins | 180 Β°C. Spread them out loosely in the basket and give them a shake halfway through. You'll find all my tips here: Reheating Chips in the Air Fryer.
